Tracy Duarte asked me to shoot his drum kit for Modern Drummer Magazine. I was very excited to be asked to do this because Tracy's kit is one of the most original drum sets you will ever see. Round trip on this shoot took about 20 hours to set up and shoot but it was well worth it. The equipment I used for this shoot was: Nikon D7000, ControllMyNikon Tethering Software, Panasonic Toughbook, and about 30 lights. I did the editing in Lightroom4 and Photoshop12, each photo took the better part of a day to cutout and do the background. The halogens gave a reddish color to the background which offset the overpowering blue of the blue fluorescents in the front. I added a few LEDs to the sides as accent to reflect the true color of the drums. All in all it worked out perfect. This was a great opportunity and I can't wait to see the photos in Modern Drummer Magazine.
